The Playstation 3 is finally available in Europe, Australia and South Africa. We hope this will attract more people over to this site, and expand the PSUbuntu-using community. There are lots of exciting things going on right now with the upcoming Feisty Fawn release of Ubuntu. The new version also looks promising in terms of making the PS3-installation process easier.
Discuss the launch in the forums.

As the Playstation 3 world launch is approaching (march 23) we have added a feature to translate the psubuntu installation instructions into various languages.
The translations are done automatically, so some of the text is probably poorly formulated. If you speak one of the languages and feel like improving the text (or if you speak another language), your contributions are welcome here.

The big news from the GDC is Sony’s annoucement concerning the new Playstation Home. I would describe it as a cross between Second Life, XBox live and Nintendo’s Miis. Home sounds like it will usher in a new era of online gaming and it will truly take us into the “next gen” of the video game world. I am sure you have all seen the trailers at this point, but I found a video of a demo by Phil Harrison that really dives into what it means to be at “Home” … check it out. Beta testing will begin in April and the final release will be sometime this Fall/Winter.

According to GameDaily, Sony and Immersive have reached an agreement about the force feedback technology used in the Playstation controller. The “rumble” technology was initially removed from the PS3-controller due to a lawsuit, but the two companies has now “entered into a new business agreement to explore the inclusion of Immersion technology in PlayStation format products”.
This will probably mean the PS3 controller will rumble again in upcoming versions.
