Feisty Fawn installation issues fixed!
Colin Watson just released a new, customized Feisty Fawn CD image which should eliminate the installation bugs and issues that has been reported on this site. Specifically, it applies some patches that makes the partitioner avoid the incorrect (”newworld”) warning messages, stop some non-essential processes (that made the installer halt at 15%) and fix the kboot.conf device naming problems.

Yeah, it hung at 15% for me too. I even did a manual partition setup and burned it real slow…

Well, cancel that, I left it alone for about 5 minutes and it moved on!! This one works!!!

Right.. only the standard Ubuntu with GDE. But you can of course always install another desktop manager on top of that one
(sudo aptitude install xubuntu-desktop).

Wi-Fi is a big question, hope they fix that and the the screen resolution for normal Tvs

Yeah, it didn’t work for me, still froze, is there anything I need to do besides putting it in and installing? Like typing anything at kboot or whatever?

My pal ps3 stop the install at 15%, i’ve tried to install ubunto from 6-18-2007, so i’ve only the working (??) iso. I’vve tried also the alternate iso, but it does not work either…

Please provide an md5sum for the iso. The md5sum check for filesystem.squashfs failed based on md5sum.txt on the CD. Do I have a corrupted download or the creator forgot to update the md5sum.txt file?

Hey I got it to install completely, but after using it twice, it locked up. Has anyone else had this issue? I am going to reinstall tonight.

ok, just installed feistey fawn on my ps3, works fine…
EXCEPT!!! - i cannot get ubuntu to recognize the ps3 wifi adaptor. can anyone tell me if they know how to fix this?

stopped at 15% after disabling stuff.. its such a shame because I was tempted with this over Yellow Dog etc.. but I guess there is no fix so I have no choice but to delete it!!

installer worked first go with out and problems.
Now to get my wireless connection working.

could there be some subtle differences between PS3s from the different regions that are a factor in the 15% half problem?
My mate has a PAL model (Australia) and this would no doubt be the same for UK/NZ/EURO markets. Those that it HAS worked - are you all using NTSC models?
