I installed this kernal and got my wireless working, however the resolution was set back to standard def. Before i installed this kernal i was running at 1080i from the base install of ubuntu.
So how can i set the resolution back to HD? I tried installing the PS3utils, but it stopped ubuntu from even starting.

What are my options to alter the resolution?

Toto, that is a liscencing issue, not a build issue. They would have to pay for that, which in turn, they would make you pay for. Deal with it.

[...] I am headed off to BB to get an HDMI to DVI converter... or cable... or something. I have read mixed reports online on the ability to use the HDMI and AV Multiport on the PS3 at the same time. Since the DVI won't do anything with the audio, I need to get the sound out to the RCA's on my TV. We shall see what I find! Ubuntu is running fine, but it doesn't pick up the wireless card in the PS3. That really sucks, as my setup is nowhere near my switch. There is another build that someone did that apparently detects the wireless. I am going to reformat and give that a go. Reports are mixed but it can't hurt to try (the whole project is useless to me without wireless). Linky: psubuntu.com | Ubuntu on a Playstation 3 ? Blog Archive ?
Hi,
I installed ubuntu on my PS3, and it worked great !! Good Job !!!
I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse (logitech dinovo for laptop), and it could not find it under XMB, but after i installed ubuntu from this website, it works fine under both Ubuntu and XMB (do not ask me why/how, am a newbie...).

I have a sony LCD Bravia 26'', plugged with HDMI to th PS3, with 1080p def.

Question :
- I'd like to lower the definition a bit (too tiny to read from my couch !!), but have not found a way yet.

- I found out ubuntu a little bit slow, and have been trying to find some tricks to make it faster... advises are welcome.

- Videos are working OK, only with VLAN (forget about Totem)... still cannot play shockwave videos, but I understood this is not possible with Cell technology yet... let me know if you know more !!

GOOD JOB, I WAS A WINDOW USER. NOW I AM CONVERTED TO UBUNTU !!!
