Hi,

Frustrating or what?

I found streammygame.com, software that will stream PC games to a PS3, IF it's running Linux!
So, I got into installing ubuntu.....oh my god!
It's a time warp. It's like stepping back 20 years!
Don't get me wrong, I admire the philosophy that drives the OS but the instructions are a shambles. There's so much taken for granted in respect of user knowledge. Big gaps in instructions everywhere. Where is there a glossary of terms? please! I'll never complain about Windows again.

I know,I know, lazy and spoilt rotten by the Windows interface but who wants to have to actually get involved in instruction code these days? I just want to play an FPS using keyboard/mouse on the PS3 I bought for it's Bluray drive!!

Ok, if anyone is still listening, I've managed to install ubuntu 7.10 on the PS3 but since I exited ubuntu I now cannot get it loaded. In the XMB 'Settings - Default OS etc. stops with 'no default root fs was found or one was found but didn't contain a message = config file.

Keh? anyone?

ok, so i get the deregister bug, and the PS# wont shut off unless i hold down the power button for a period of time.

when i type in "kboot: boot-game-os" i get this as a response

"/init: eval: 1: boot-game-os: not found"

if anyone can help it would be great, thanks

So i installed the buntu onto the ps3 but when it turns and i go into the operating system, the resolution is like 560x350, something like that and it wont let me change the resolution, no other available resolutions pop up when i try to change it. My TV is an HD LCD screen 37 in samsung, Was curious if anyone else had similar issues, or if anyone knows a way to possibly fix the issue.
