New PSUbuntu Forums

We have set up a new forum to help organize posts and prevent the spam issues we had with the previous one. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a way to convert the current posts to the new forum, so we have to start from scratch.

The good side of this is that it makes it easier to restructure the rooms and give us more specific forum topics. We will also avoid confusion with old threads, tutorials and discussions meant for old releases.

The previous forum will still be open for a while, but eventually posting there will be disabled. It will still be accessible and searchable, but all current discussions should be merged to the new forums.

Welcome to the new PSUbuntu Forums!

    Hello,

I usually avoid typing information or asking questions in forums, however, have fell in love with Ubuntu and PS3.

I have a question about my new passion:

    Preliminary Information:
    - Samsung 23″ LCD TV 1080i 60Hz connected to the PS3 using the Sony branded Component cables.
    - PS3 has the latest firmware update
    - Samsung LCD is officially LN-R237W

Why won’t Ubuntu allow me to change my resolution from it’s current “Ficsher Price” mode, to 1080i? I have followed all the instructions posted herein, but always end up with bad results. I have tried changing to any / all of the possible 1080i modes, all to no avail… PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    Thanks Y’all!!!

BTW - I would LOVE to be more involved with this “project”, but I am new to Linux, but SUPER willing to learn whatever I need to learn to be more involved!

    Kind Regards,

    MT

It’s nice to hear you like Ubuntu on your PS3, but you should try posting your questions in the PSUbuntu Forums instead of here in the blog comments. In the forums it will be read by more people, perhaps someone who has the same TV who can help you.

Post your question in the Video & Monitors forum, or try searching through the old forum for similar issues.

    Good luck :)

    FredTech,

I also created a PS3 port discussion list at ubuntu.com.
