RakZer0 has posted a very detailed forum tutorial on how to solve the wireless adapter issue for any edition of PSUbuntu Hardy Heron. An excellent guide for anyone who just installed Ubuntu 7.10 on their PS3.
You will need to install the graphical bootloader petitboot, patch the kernel and convert rpm-packages, but the detailed instructions should be easy to follow.

I from Puerto Rico i download the ubuntu 7.10 I do all the steps and Im installing and when is was installin the languish and is was have a 75% and then the console tell me is was a heror and the screen torn on black like commands and the 2 pinguins and Icant go back to the ps3 sistem please welp me Icant do nothing whit my console tell what Ican do

Hold your PS3’s power button for 5 seconds when you start it up, and it will change the boot flag to the game OS, and reset the display settings.

Deja presionado el boton de power hasta que escuches dos beeps, hecho eso reinicia el ps3 y deberia de iniciar normal. Si esto no te funciona has lo mismo de dejar presionado el boton de power hasta escuchar los dos beeps, despues reinicias y si llega hasta el prompt de kboot:, escribe “boot-game-os” sin las comillas y eso te llevara de regreso al ps3.
