Ubuntu has been the most popular Linux distribution for the desktop over the last few years. It focuses on usability and ease of installation, and provides regular updates. The name derives from the african concept of ubuntu, meaning “humanity towards others”. It gives you a full range of modern desktop applications right “out of the box”.

Because of its ease of use, we believe that Ubuntu should be the distribution of choice for the Playstation 3. As the most user friendly version of Linux, it will be a great starting point for people who are new to the OS (as most PS3-owners are).
