So im curious about a couple of things that may or maynot work in PS3 Linux. from what ive come up with heres a basic list of features working/unsupported.
What Doesnt work:
3D excellerated Nvidia Drivers.
Flash player for PPC
Blu Ray support.
What Does work:
Java for firefox
Bluetooth
Wireless Internet
Nvidia Drivers (Basic support NO 3d acceleration)
Sound
Ethernet
I am also not sure about swaping HD's?
Do you think you could put a 500 gig sata hd in the PS3? Or is their a limit on HD size and or using your own HD? |

According to the image on the PS3 Linux page on wikipedia, Flash should work.
But I believe you're right about 3D acceleration and BR not working. Yet |

| I seriously wonder why flash will work in the PS3 browser but we cannnot get it to work in Linux. I guess it will all come in time. Wait until there are 100 Million units out there like the PS2 and I believe we will see a greater interest in using it as a HTPC. |

I think you may be able to use a USB adapter to gain wireless support.
But true, i dont belive at the moment the built in wifi is working.
Also i think the ppl at yellowdog linux are working on getting it to work. |

I believe that at the time of writing, the largest 2.5" HDD on the market is a 200GB by Fujitsu, which might not even fit since they made it 0.49" (12.5 mm) taller than the standard to accommodate a third platter.
If you're hungry for hard disk space, an external HDD seems to be a better solution, which will spare you the inconvenience of opening up your PS3 and voiding its warranty

| Errr. Taking the PS3 hard drive out does not void the warranty, it's actually a feature. Im pretty sure they designed it in this way. Now using 3rd party Harddrive's, just might void your warranty. |
