Also tried the xubuntu desktop version from a few days back and that one hung at formating swap.

I have no idea what's going on with these installs, never seen anything like it before :(.
I should be getting my new keyboard the first/second of October so I'll be able to try then.

Well my attempt to use the daily from 9/28 still led to the same "no cd rom found" error during the start of the install. I am still baffled how there is such an installer that runs off of a CD and then can't find the CD Rom. I hope this is fixed in the Beta.

Hey, I just tried again, and noticed you can input the cdrom path yourself. I'm going to check the path in my working karmic build tomorrow and see if entering that will fix the problem.

EDIT: Nope that didn't work either.

Looks good ! Ive been using a Sun Viirtualbox (i386) Karmic Ubuntu System for a while and even I was taken in for a moment that this was a cd distro! It is NOT(no devices is probably a clue?) PS3 Karmic Koala is an update to an already installed Jaunty 9.04 just type "update-manager -d" .. and hang on for a few hours depending on your isp.

Good luck

If the upgrade works, that's interesting, but 9.10 is supposed to go final in the next couple of weeks, and if it doesn't install that's going to be a problem (though I guess Ubuntu install media for old releases doesn't really go away :-)

Last time I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 on my PS3 left me with an unbootable system, and the time before that with bluetooth not working properly and apt complaining.

Clean install > upgrade for sure.

I just updated my karmic install (which was alpha 4 I think) and now my screen is messed up. Looks like I'll be back to Jaunty untill Karmic gets fixed.
