Intro Hello all! And welcome to my very first tutorial here! I've recently been trying to get my Sixaxis controller to work with Ubuntu on my PS3... The tutorials I found were either outdated, or pretty hard for the average PS3 linux user, so I decided to write one myself Yeah anyways... I came across a brilliant application that will help you connect your sixaxis (or dualshock) and even let you use it as a mouse in no-time! It's called "Sixaxis-Gui" and was written by falkTX (Ubuntu forums). Full credits go to this programmer NOTE: you will have to manually connect the sixaxis if you wan't to use it, it won't auto connect. This is a solution for those that mainly use the sixaxis as a joystick. I packed the files needed for this tutorial in a tar.gz file, I assume you know how to extract those Attachment: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installing When you've figured out how to extract the archive () you have to double click on the "-bin" file, when that has been installed, double click the file that ends with "rc1.1" if you're used to rebooting your system after installing you can do it now, but it isn't nessesairy ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Connecting your first controller About time to connect your controller to the PS3huh? I hope you got trough the process of installing the application without any problems Ready? Go to "Applications -> Accessories -> Sixaxis-gui" You will probably have to click the taskbar icon, as it loads in the background for some reason... Now when you've started the application, click on "Setup Menu" and then on "Setup first connection". The application will now guide you trough the process! NOTE: The four leds on the controller will keep blinking, even if it is connected! Congratulations! You just set up your first connection ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What's Next? Now that was easy huh? Well it's getting even easier! from now on, if you want to connect ANY sixaxis or dualshock controller, you just go to the "Task menu", and click on "Connect Sixaxis to PC"! I think the other options are pretty much self-explanatory, so I won't guide you trough those Thank you for reading this tutorial, If you have a question, or just wan't to say something about the tutorial, just post here Happy Gaming, Quipeace |

Nice quipeace, I am going to refer a couple people having bluetooth keyboard problems here and see if it will work for that also. I don't have one to test with it. Both my dual shocks are working however. |

I don't have a BT keyboard either... Wouldn't be a great solution anyways, as you have to connect the keyboard manually every time you boot and can't use it to login |

Dalarius wrote: is xorg.conf supposed to be completely empty? Yes. After default install you should have anything there as latest linux versions rely heavily on automatic hardware detection. |
