Hi, im new to linux so i dont really know much. I have this problem where when i download the thing to burn onto the CD it takes 862 mb or something and then when its finished its only 9mb (thats for and ubuntu 9.10) and for the 8.10 its only 1mb when its like 632mb when i first start download. Is that supposed to happen? Then i put the burned disc into ps3 and i click install the ps3 freezes and turns off but for the 8.10 it doesnt even have a iso file.

SOME1 PLEASE HELP BEEN TRYING TO DO THIS FOR LIKE 2 DAYS.

If that dont make sense sorry :S new to this stuff.

9.10 is currently flagged as "doesn't fit on an actual CD" but the 714M version I grabbed a few days ago burns to a dvd fine, and boots off of it... once it boots it can't finish the install, but it does get far enough to try, and let me poke around (so it might work on different/older hardware, YMMV.)

I was going to say maybe you're getting the .torrent file, but those aren't the right sizes, either. Sounds like something's wrong with whatever you're using to download the files. If you go here http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/ports/releases/jaunty/release/ (the directory containing the .iso file listed on psubuntu), you can try downloading the torrent file and using your bittorrent client to download it. You might have better success that way.

For reference, what are you downloading the .iso with?
