General rules and posting new messages.1. Before opening new topic, please use forum search to find solution or open similar discussion to post at. This helps maintaining forum and helps community itself to find information instead of dozens of similar scattered messages.
2. If you open new topic it's absolutely essential that you name it as specific as possible. Good example how to name topic might be something like "Can you install Ubuntu to external hard drive?". Topic named like this gives an idea at glance what this post will contain instead of poorly named alternative like "Installing" or "Can it be done?" This forum will NOT tolerate poorly named topics or double posting. Another important thing is that take a second before posting and think what subforum your message actually belongs to.
BTW if you're about to make post for ex. program that doesn't start at all from it's launcher icon. Try to launch it from terminal instead as it'll give you errors to pinpoint your possible problem and attach those errors to your post. You can right click launcher icon to solve programs specific name instead of launcher description to use in terminal if you don't happen to know it.
3. If you've created new topic in forum and your problem is solved then please edit your topic and add [solved] to it's subject line. This will help many users especially when using forum search.
4. Let's try to keep messages in good clean english as this will once again eventually help using forum search and keywords and makes reading easier to non-native english speaking persons.
Remember good manners and patience. Please take a moment to read
Code of ConductIf some message bothers you no matter why, don't be shy to push report button on it and telling us about it.
These rules might seem to be even ridiculously strict, but if everyone follows these, soon we will have nice collection of good post that are easy to find using search. Wouldn't it be nicer to use search instead of posting and waiting for someone to answer your message?
Thank you for reading this and please enjoy your stay at psubuntu.com
