There is also an option to configure the wireless during install but it only supports WEP according to the message on screen. All installations from daily discs I've tried become unbootable when installing the ubuntu-desktop. I believe it is the initrd generation that's conflicting. But if you know how to build a kernel and you have allot of experience with linux and ppc hardware. You should try to do an upgrade. But I'm gonna give one more try.
